Summary
- This position is responsible for supply room inventory control, receiving, and assuring needed parts and supplies are available to support efficient plant operations. In addition, works with the Purchasing Department to meet operating requirements at the lowest cost available.
- This position is responsible for maintaining stock levels, inventory records, shipment and receipt/issue of goods, and assisting with purchase request/orders.
- The individual in this position is responsible for ensuring the inventory control activities achieve inventory quality, inventory levels, cost control, and safety performance in accordance with professional and corporate standards. This includes, but is not limited to, inventory management, record maintenance, and the shipment and receipt/issuance of goods and purchasing.
- The individual in this position will accomplish multiple tasks by utilizing sound communication skills and a team work concept with the Production, Administration, Maintenance, Human Resources, Quality Assurance, and Warehousing departments.
- The area of work includes both inside the facility and outside, depending on work requirements. Weekend and overtime work in this position is common and may be required to meet operational goals.
- The individual in this position will be required to fully understand that working in an automated production plant requires that each person be constantly alert to moving equipment and other potential safety hazards, along with having the ability to make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates.
- This role is on A(day) shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures alertness and constant awareness of the safe operation of moving equipment and other potential safety hazards in a production plant.
- Ensures necessary level of communication (oral and written) is maintained with the appropriate personnel.
- Maintains accurate receiving documentation, inventory files, and records.
- Ensures all documents are processed in an accurate and timely manner. This includes, but is not limited, to routing, posting, scanning and filing.
- Ensures materials received are inspected according to proper procedures, reconciled with packing slips and purchase orders tagged and moved to the appropriate storage area.
- Ensures materials issued are posted to inventory records as soon as possible when issued using a computer and RF Gun.
- Ensures the shipment of outbound goods is handled according to Simplot s policies and procedures.
- Ensures inventories are maintained at desired levels using Buyers Guide checks, cycle counts, and physical counts as needed.
- Interfaces directly with vendors to incorporate all aspects of inventory needs, deliveries, reconciling damaged or incorrect shipments and shipping. This includes reviewing purchase orders, following up on back orders and coordination of shipping.
- Ensures communication (oral and written) to vendors and other plant personnel is appropriate, accurate, timely, and courteous.
- Ensures stock room and office areas are maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
- Ensures no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and policies.
- Conducts oneself in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function and while representing the Company.
- Uses basic understanding of maintenance including drives motors, sprockets, bearings, pipe and tubing, and measurement to support plant needs.
